Lutema Avatar 2 Hovercraft review

My son received the Lutema Avatar 2 Hovercraft as a birthday present. We were really excited to try it out. Unfortunately this the one of the worst toys ever designed. Lets start with the fact that there are three instructions manuals that all give a different set of instructions on how to sync the controller with the helicopter. None of the manuals are actually for the model we have since the descriptions in the manual do not match the controller or the helicopter. The box claims that the unit comes with a wall charger adapter, which it does not. The instruction manual also states to charge the hover craft to plug the USB into the wall charger that doesn't exist. It also sort of mentions that you can charge it by plugging it into the controller, but it is not clear on this. The instructions also state that there should be a red and green light to indicate the Lutema Avatar 2 Hovecraft is either charging or fully charged, which it has neither. After following the vague instructions for syncing the controller from three different manuals, we finally got it to sync ONE time. We were able to fly the hovercraft for about 5 seconds before it lost contact with the controller and began to fly on its own. It crashed. After repeating the same sync instructions a dozen times we could not get it to sync again. I read through the instructions one more time, repeated the SAME steps as before and it sync again. This time I was able to fly it for about 5 second before it became unresponsive to the controller and landed and crashed again. After trying to sync it again for 5 minutes we gave up. I followed the QR scan code in the instruction for "How to sync your hovercraft". This took me to a video of a different model of hovercraft as the controller looks nothing like mine. The instructions are the extra steps we are doing to sync it. So we try again and guess what it syncs. We fly it for about 5 seconds before it again loses contact with the controller and begins to fly all around on its own until it crashes. We are now unable to get it to sync at all. We are trying to charge it again in case that is the issue but really, this toy and the instruction are a piece of crap. If your products has the following issues, its a piece of crap: Doesn't have what the box says is included. Has multiple manuals for the wrong model. None of the instruction fit your model. The instructional video is not for your model. The instructions are written by someone in China. If the Lutema Avatar 2 Hovercraft actually worked I think it would be really neat. Unfortunately we will likely be taking it back since we can not get it work in the least.

Possible wing from flight MH370 found.

A portion of an aircraft wing has been found on Reunion Island that may be part of the MH370 plane that went missing March 8th.  The plane was last seen on radar turning off course.  No debris has ever been found and million of dollars across a dozen country have been spent looking for the wreckage on the ocean floor.  Conspiracy theorist has come up with all sorts of outrageous thoeries of government cover ups to terrorism and alien abductions.

Maybe this wing will come up as a positive match and family give these family some closure as they know what the final outcome was for the plane.  It may even lend a clue as to where the plane went down.  Only time will tell what the researchers will find.

Jake's Wayback Burgers Irving

A new burger restaurant called Jake's Wayback Burgers opened in Irving.  This restaurant is located on Riverside and Royal next to the 7 Eleven gas station.  This burger restaurant opened only a few days ago.  I work about a quarter mile from this location so I decided I would give it a try.

Before I give you my review you must know that I went into the restaurant with extremely high hopes.  The food looks amazing and I was sure this was going to be my new favorite burger joint.  I went to the restaurant July 15th.  The first thing I noticed was that I was the only person in the restaurant that was a customer.  There were about a dozen Wayback Burger executives that were admiring the restaurant, taking pictures and discussing business.

I stood in front of the cash register for about 2 minutes while an employee was doing something with the cash register.  It was awkward because she never acknowledged me.  I could see that she was busy doing something but I felt like I was being ignored or that she just couldn't even see me past whatever she was doing.  A simple smile or something like "I'll be with you in a second" would have been nice.  No big deal right.

Next I ordered the Burger of the Month the All American Burger.  I got the combo 2 which is a side of fries and a medium drink the total was 11.64.  I started to regret my order as I saw two fairly small patties hit the grill.  I got my drink and watched as my burger cooked.  After cooking for about 4 to 5 minutes they put the fries in the fryer.  The burger was done but the fries were not.  I had to wait an additional 3-4 minutes for the fries to finish cooking.  Timing these a little better would have made me a lot happier.  Instead of about a 5 minute wait time, I had about a 10. When I got to work I find a pretty average sized amount of fries, nothing close to what you would expect for almost 12 bucks.  The fries were pretty tasty, cooked just about perfect to my liking.  They are soft medium thick fries.  The burger was good but nothing special.  In fact the extras such as the friend jalapenos were lacking flavor and used sparingly.

So how do I rate Jake's Wayback Burgers in Irving?  The food by itself was pretty good.  It wasn't what I hoped for but it was tasty.  The fries were just perfect for how I like them.  The price was too high for what I got.  I would happily return if what I got was around 9.50 but for 11.64 I just simply cant see my self going back often.  Plus there are atleast half a dozen burger restaurants within a few miles that are cheaper or better.  Five Guys, In and Out burger, Wendy's, Steak and Shake and Whataburger are some that come to mind.

You Cant Win This Answers

KPLX is currently running a contest called "You Can't Win This".  The object of the contest is to get all 5 questions correct.  The problem is, there is only one time a day around 7:20 A.M. that someone gets a chance to answer.  And the problem is, even though the first 3 questions have been answered, some people continue to call in and "guess" the wrong answers.  I guess these people have not listened to the show at all since the first three question have been answered and they don't change.

Lily Camera

I came across this incredible flying camera.  By placing a target beacon on yourself, Lily will follow and record video of you.  Lily will take HD video at 60 FPS and 120 FPS at 720.  Lily has a flight time of 20 minutes.

The amazing part is that you simply toss Lily in the air and she begins to fly and record video of you.  There is no controller needed.  You can set the distance she flies from you before hand and with a push of a button you can make her hover in the air while still filming.  She is also water proof so you can drop her in the water and watch her take flight even from the water.

This new little toy is amazing.  You can pre-order them for 599 right now or they will be 999 once they come out.

Goliath Grouper from Kayak.

I've never Kayak fished.  And I have never caught a Goliath Grouper.  I certainly would never think about trying to land a big Goliath Grouper in a Kayak.  This is a pretty cool video.  Im glad these fish are making a come back.  They were wiped out in the 80's and 90's from over fishing, but now with protected status these fish are making a good come back.

New Missouri Record Striper

Found this article today.  A new record Striped Bass was caught in Missouri.  This fished weighed in at a whopping 65.2 pounds.  I had no idea Striper got that large.  It was caught in Bulls Shoals Lake on the southern border of Missouri.  It was officially weighed and is the current record.

Texas Heat!

A storm was heading in to north Texas last night so I checked my weather app and noticed that the temperature was registering 113 and a feels like temperature of 304.  I guess Texas heat feels like hell sometimes.  In reality I think the temp was around the 70's all night long.

Goliath Grouper eats a 4 foot shark whole.

Ive seen some videos of Goliath Grouper eating some decent sized fish but I have never seen one eat a shark let alone a shark around 4 foot long.  This is incredible.  I would love to hook into a huge Goliath Grouper.  Glad to see these fish making such a good comeback after being over fished for so long.  Goliath Grouper are one of my favorite fish.

Pamela Bailey in Hart of Dixie Bar-Be-Q Burritos

Pamela Bailey made an appearance in Hart of Dixie Bar-Be-Q which was the fifth episode of season 4.  In this episode Wade and Zoe continue to plan for the baby.  Zoe is starting to show baby bump.  The Rammer Jammer is not doing so well so Wade decides he needs to bring a star in to sing and draw people in.  When Wade and Zoe leave the Rammer Jammer they encounter the Pritchett Sisters selling Bar-Be-Q outside from a truck.

Meatball informs Wade that his cousin is a singer and could help out.  It turns out that Pamela Bailey is Meatballs cousin.  She is reluctant to help Wade and Meatball out at first but Meatball decides to black mail her about a broken vase.  Pamela Bailey agrees to sing at the Rammer Jammer after Wade suggest staying at the Whippoorwill Bed and Breakfast.

Zoe has determined that the Whippoorwill is infested with Bed Bugs and had the bed and breakfast shutdown.  Zoe convinces Lavon to reopen the Whippoorwill so that Pamela Bailey will come to town.

Lemon and Lavon have some difficult times.  There is still an awkwardness between them and neither can decide what to do about there feelings.  They both accidentally show up at a singles hoedown and end up dancing.

Annabeth and George have a lunch together and Lemon sees this as an opportunity to get them together.  If they get together, Lemon feels that her and Lavon can have a relationship.  The plan backfires.  Pamela ends up singing for the Rammer Jammer.

Goliath Grouper eat a Bonita whole

Chew on this, a popular saltwater fishing youtube channel has some incredible videos of huge fish in Florida being caught.  In this video the fishermen have a Bonita on the end of a fishing pole as a group of Goliath Grouper attempting to eat it.  In the end a massive Goliath Grouper swallows the Bonita easily in one gulp.

Hart of Dixie Bar-Be-Q Burritos recap

This Hart of Dixie Bar-Be-Q Burritos recap has plenty of spoilers and it is a rundown of the episode of Hart of Dixie Bar-Be-q Burritos, so if you don't want spoilers stop reading.

The is episode 5 of season 4 of Hart of Dixie.  The episode starts with Zoe Hart(Rachel Bilson) and Wade Kinsella(Wilson Bethel) discussing future plans.  Most of the plans are pretty simple until the reach number 3 which is new living arrangements.  Zoe notices that there are no other people in the Rammer Jammer.  As Zoe and Wade go outside they see that the Pritchett Sisters are selling Bar-Be-Q from a truck.  Everyone in town is buying it.  Zoe is emotional while Wade says everything will be OK.  Lavon(Cress Williams) confesses that he cant stop seeing Lemon(Jaime King) everywhere in his dreams.  Lavon and Lemon both show up at a Ho-Down and begin dancing.

Wade and Meatball head to Meatballs cousin Pamela Bailey.  They want her to perform at the Rammer Jammer to bring some people back.  She isn't too excited about going until Wade mentions the Bed and Breakfast.  Zoe continues to be emotion while treating people at work.  A couple on a honeymoon show up with red spots everywhere.  Zoe quickly determines it is bed bug bites.  Annabeth and Cricket bring some potential buyers to the houseboat.  Annabeth wants to sell it.  George and the brothers are playing music and raising hell which scares the buyers off.  George and Annabeth have an arguement where she admits she is selling the houseboat to pay for nursing school.  Lemon and Lavon have a conversation and Lemon hints that Lavon is the love of her life.  When Lavon ask her about it, she plays it off as someone else.  The situation becomes awkward so Lavon says "Something has to change" and Lemon responds "Yes, we do" and walks away.  Lavon is heartbroken.

The next morning Lavon is upset with Wade and Zoe.  He informs them that the night went horrible and Lemon was there.  Zoe tries to convince Brick that the bed bug scare was an over-reaction.  Brick informs Zoe that she diverted a huge bed bug infestation.  George attempts to apologize to Annabeth.  They get in a funny conversation about Were-Raccoons.  They begin laughing as Lemon walks in and see's they having a great time.  The Whippoorwill bead and breakfast is temporarily reopened to allow Pamela a room.

Lemon ask George and Annabeth to try the new menu.  PamelaBailey at the Whippoorwill is very demanding and makes Lavon cringe.  Lemon is trying to setup Annabeth and George so she can get back with Lavon.  While Lavon is trying to get the items the guest at the Whippoorwill and Lemon shows up.  Lavon figures out what Lemon is doing and he tells her it will not work.

Lavon returns to the Whippoorwill and catches thePamela kissing a young man.  She ask Lavon to buy some items and Lavon gets upset and tells her that its a fake bed and breakfast.  Annabeth figures out that Lemon was trying to setup George and Annabeth and gets upset.  Pamela plays at the Rammer Jammer.  Goerge and Annabeth end up dancing and it is hinted they might end up together.

Dover Police officer dancing to Shake it off by Taylor Swift.

One of the funner viral videos to come out in the last month or so was one caught on the dashcam of a Dover Police Officer.  Unfortunately it turns out that is was staged.  Even so, it is still very funny.  The video shows a Dover Police Officer driving around town dancing, bobbing his head and lip syncing the lyrics to Taylor Swift popular song Shake It Off.  Some of the funnier moments are when he encounters other drivers and he stops for a brief moment so they don't see him bouncing around.

The video went viral and was posted and shared all over Facebook.  At the current time this video has 28,000,000 views and still going up fast.  The police department admitted it was staged and joke.  It is still very funny.

CGPGallery Review

After Bubblews took a hit with a pay rate change I started looking for another similar website to earn money on.  I was told the CGPGallery was the closest alternative.  I signed up and started writing.  The rules are almost identical, in fact some users believe it is the same company.  Further research shows it is not the same company.

I wrote 10 articles to see how the website would work.  I earned a couple bucks within a few hours of my joining.  I felt like their was some potential with CGPGallery until I completely stopped earning.  I waited an entire week and never earned another cent.  So it looks like the only way to earn money is to keep post as many articles each day as possible.  There is no passive revenue at all.  At least not in my experience.

I am looking for passive revenue sharing websites.  I don't want to write and article, earn 20 or 30 cents and then never earn from it again.  Maybe in the future CGPGallery will change but for now I don't recommend it.

How to take a screeshot with HTC One M8

I don't know why each version of smartphone, even by the same company has to change the way you take a screenshot.  Just come up with a standard way and leave it at that.  I finally figured out how to take a screenshot with the HTC One M8.

All you need to do is hold the power button and the volume down button together for about 1.5 to 2 seconds.  This will capture whatever you have on the phone screen.

To access the screenshot go to your gallery icon and press it.  There will be a section under there that says screenshots.  All of your screenshots will be visible in this folder.

Bubblews earnings 2015

Bubblews changed the pay rate in January on 2015.  This made the earnings all around drop dramatically.  I have earned less than 1 dollar in almost 2 months on Bubblews.  I was previously earnings on averag 1.50 a day.  That is a 9000% drop in earning.  I asked several other Bubblews users and they said they are experiencing the exact same issue.

Previous to the change if I posted a new article I was pretty much guaranteed to make 20 cents at least off it.  After the changes I'm lucky if I earn 1-2 cents from the article. Iam sitting at 42 dollars in my bank and it appears I'll never make the pay out.  At my current rate I would expect to get to 50 dollars in about 10 months.

TSU earning tips

I have been working on TSU for a couple of weeks and I have figured out a few tips for earning more money.  Most users just login, post some stuff, maybe like some other people post and hope they make some money.  The fact is you wont make much if any just doing this.  To earn more money on TSU you need to have a plan.

The number one thing you have to do to earn more money is to have people in your family tree.  The way to get more people in your family tree is to have them use your signup code.  My code is http://www.tsu.co/loki1982 .  Without a good number of children in your tree you will never earn very much.

Now aside from gaining more children, posting the right stuff is important.  The best way to get money is by having people re-share your post.  People will not re-share your post unless it is something they are genuinely interested in.  So post things that are high quality and likely to be re-shared.  Funny photographs, inspirational quotes and helpful tips get shared a lot.

Gain friends and followers.  The more friends and followers you have, the more people will see your post and the more likely they will share the content.  Having random friends doesn't really help.  So don't just add everyone you see.  Search using hash tags that are related to you post.  If you post nature photographs find others that post and share other people's photographs and add them.  They will likely be interested in the types of things you post.

Bubblews earnings have dropped

Bubblews announced that they would be changing the pay rate.  Instead of the old pay rate which was 1 penny for every view, comment and like, they are now paying a portion of views based on the country the view came from.

To put this in perspective I was making on average 1.50 per day on Bubblews before the change.  After the change I am making on average 4 cents a day.  This is huge.  I have over 400 articles on Bubblews and I am making 4 cents a day.  The pay change is ridiculous.  I refuse to write any new articles and I will more than likely remove the ones I have up after my next pay out.

I think Bubblews planned this all along.  They had an incredibly high pay rate to attract a bunch of writers knowing they would drop the rate later and have an incredibly high number of articles already written.

Big Redfish out of Galveston

This video shows some really big Red fish being caught in Galveston.  I have done some Red fishing in Galveston but never caught any near these sizes.  A nice Black Drum is caught at the end and a large shark.

TSU earnings

Make money with TSU

TSU is a new social network website that shares part of it's revenue with user's.  It's not a get rich quick scheme, and it wont make you enough money to quit your job.  What it can do is put a little money in your pocket to pay a bill or two, or buy some beer.

Once you have signed up you need to fill out your profile.  Add a profile picture and start being social.  Don't try to cheat the system or spam.  You will not make money and you will likely get banned.  Instead find post that interest you and become friends with users who share common interest.  Search using hash tags for topics you are interested in.  I am a nature photographer and I love to fish.  So I have joined several TSU users who share my love of fishing.

When you find topics you like or photographs, share them on your wall.  Write comments and respond to others. Make sure to invite people to join TSU as this increases both your revenue and the people who join under you.

Don't spam and don't ask for people to like, comment or follow.  These are not genuine social interactions which is what TSU is about.  If you follow the rules and build your relationship with other users you will begin to make money from tsu  on a regular basis.

Irving Tx rocked by 10th earthquake in 24 hours.

At approximately 8:34 CST Irving Texas was hit by the 10th earthquake in 24 hours.  Irving has been rocked by an average of 2-3 earthquakes a week since around October.  The cause is believed to be related to fracking in the area for natural gas.  The first earthquake happened January 6th in the late afternoon and was a 3.5.  Since that time nine additional earthquakes have hit the area including the largest so far a 3.6.

Their isn't any solid proof yet that fracking is the cause but some studies are being conducted and the results look to be conclusive that fracking is causing the earthquakes.  Does theis mean that damage done to property should be repaired by the companies that are fracking.
